Our management has permitted to attend the 21st National Conference of Karuna International at Chennai on 29.12.2018 & 30.12.2018. Our Secretary Sri Vidya Mandir Association Sri K.N.Lakshman guided us. The principal Sri R.Jayakaran, Sri P.G.Krishnan, Sri B.M.Sathyaram and the teachers Sri.D.Lakshman,Sri P.Selva Kumar,Sri K.Rajeshwaran, Sri M.Karthikeyan, Sri T.Vijayan, Sri D.Balamurugan, attended the program. We reached at Chennai on 28.12.2018 at 10.30 am. The members of Karuna Club have received us and we have been taken to Jain Terapent Vidyalaya CBSE School at Pattalam, Chennai -12 at 11.00pm. We, who are the delegates of the conference, were provided the delicious morning tiffin at 8.00am on 29.01.2019.

We have registered our names at 8.45am and assembled in the auditorium hall sharply at 9.30am. The program started sharply at 10.00am. Sri.Kailshmull Dugar, the president of Karuna International delivered welcome speech.

The 1st session started with the lighting of Kuthuvizhalakku by all the dignitaries who were on the dias. Thiru. Deepchand Luniya M.D., Paceman Finance India Pvt.Ltd, inaugurated the ‘Karuna Exihibition’ sharply at 9.15am. All the delegates visited the exihibition.Our Secretary Sri K.N.Lakshmanan ji was very much attracted with this and he has suggested to purchase few valuable books to the library of our association schools.

Sri.Deep Chand Luniya Jain has presided over the function. He has given a clear view to the audience that the Karuna values should be started from the family. The chief guest Sri.Ramkumar, Deen, Dr.MGR Research and Educational Institution, Chennai has given a thought provoking speech and appreciated the Karuna activities. The session came to an end at 11.15am. There was a tea break.

The II session started at 11.30am Sri.Padam Kumar.J.Tatia, the General Secretary, has read the Annual Report. Also various activities regarding the karuna club were displayed through powerpoint presentation. Sri.Dulichand Jain, the Chairman of Karuna Club, has beautifully delivered a speech and has clearly given a outline sketch about Karuna Activities ie. about the National Conferences, School activities etc., He has given more importance on the Four karuna values. He also told that 2500 schools are enrolled as members of karuna club.

Sri. Suresh Kankaria, the conference chairman organized a program to inaugurate to start a ‘Karuna Club’with the help of the karuna teachers and students. The students played a drama and performed how to help the elders and blind people through kindness and expressed the karuna values. The principal and teachers have given speeches regarding various activities of the karuna club through powerpoint presentations. Everybody requested to encourage karuna activities in their schools. The session came to an end at 1.15pm after the oath taking program by the students.

III session started at 2.10pm. A beautiful program was conducted by Dr.Don Willaiams.G.M, chairman , Blue Cross Member. He spoke about the wrong uses of plastic. He explained various problems how the animals and human are suffering by plastics through powerpoint presentation. He felt sorry that men are unaware of compassion and the bad effects of plastics. He registered everybody to Live and let Live.

Mrs.Aarthi has given a brief sketch about karuna movements and karuna activities and explained why this should be advertised? The medias are spreading wrong news to use non-veg and fast food etc. Teachers should guide the children and the students should talk with the parents and educate them regarding karuna values. Beautiful Hindi Gazals were sung by some of the karuna members. The audience enjoyed much.

We have been frisked by the security of the Governor of Tamilnadu at 3.30pm and permitted in the auditorium hall. The delegates shared their views about ‘Compassion’ (3.30pm to 4.30pm). This process was going on till 4.25pm. The honorable Governor Sri.Banvarilal Prohit entered the hall sharply at 4.30pm. The program started with the prayer Song and welcome address. Awards distributed to the winner schools by the Governor and guest of honor.

“Our culture is 1000 years old and still it is continued. The British people tried to destroy our culture. As Swami Vivekananda had rightly pointed out that we have a strong culture. Because the base is Dharma. “Karuna Club” is doing noble work through karuna activities. The club is probagating vegetarianism. Even trees have life. This is our culture. You decide to plant one tree if there is birth of a child at home. One son is equal to ten ponds. One tree is equivalent to ten sons. So grow trees. It is sin to cut the neem trees. Because Neem trees are equivalent to God. People afraid to open even a shop infront of Neem tree and utter lie in front of the trees to their customers. Everything is in vegetarianism. Once a rich man came to meet the great Socrates and he exposed his power and proudly explained about his properties. Socrates asked him to bring a globe. He asked him to show his properties in the map. He made him to understand that we are fit for nothing. The rich man felt ashamed. Socrates advised him to be humble and donate everything to all. Now I see the karuna team is unique, successful and transparent”.

Later, We have been engaged with cultural program. Students of Vidya Sagar School, Chennai performed a skit regarding the karuna values.
